Broken Things
And so the glass sky had shattered, And even the mountains broke and came down into a crashing avalanche, In a distance I stood still, I watched in wonderment as I heard nothing, And every thought was inflamed, It burned in all it's glory, Fueled by every great expectation, Even my eyes I had closed, There was no need to watch my crimson moments I nurtured so dearly, be obliterated in the fury, The piercing sharpness of reality tormented my mind I was only ever angry with myself, Had I never placed you among angels, Had I never insisted that you be part of my heaven, Then maybe I wouldn't have been bounded in my own hell.
